Hi, I’m Nico. And I love to teach.
My passion began when I was eleven, and I began taking private lessons in mathematics.
We started with the number system, blew through the axioms, and within a few months had mastered algebra. In school, I skipped two grades of math. In my lessons, we were already well into pre-calculus.
This experience taught me the value of one-on-one instruction. It wasn’t just that my grades improved. Or that I fell in love with math. Most importantly, I learned how to think.
Today, I aim to give my students the same gift.
Experience.
For over ten years, I’ve maintained a private practice, teaching subjects ranging from pre-algebra to Spanish to short story composition, to students of all ages.
At Yale, I was a faculty-nominated Writing Tutor, as well as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow for the selective Directed Studies program. I received my B.A. in Humanities, with Distinction in the Major.
When I applied to college, I was admitted to: Yale, Columbia (as a Kluge Scholar), The University of Chicago (as a President’s Scholar), Northwestern, Williams, Swarthmore, and Vassar.
